It?s wasn?t deep or meaningful and it was silly in spots but it sure was rock ?n? roll. ?White Rhino? was a kind of thrash-metal sprint ending in a 10-minute drum solo by Robb Reiner that was properly cataclysmic. During their set closing ?Metal on Metal? the trio?s frontman Steve ?Lips? Mudvayne’s chaotic blend of hard rock and heavy metal made for an ear-splitting hour of new music and classic tracks from their 12-year career. Walking on stage in a fuzzy monkey suit minus the head lead singer Chad Gray screamed through hits like “Happy” “Not Falling” and “Fall Into Sleep. ” Blistering angry lyrics were barely understandable unless you knew the songs but the energy whipped the crowd into a frenzy in the pit. Drummer Matthew McDonough guitarist Greg Tribbett and bassist Ryan Martinie created the throbbing sound to accompany Gray. The band’s newest hit “Dull Boy” and oldest hit “Dig” wrapped up their hour-long set.

(0 Comments) Trinity Records has issued the following announcement about the line-up for the upcoming Asian Death Metal Festival:”We here at Trinity Music with our desire to unify and to push the Asian Metal scene to worldwide recognition will be organizing an ASIAN DEATH METAL FESTIVAL (Tomahawk Metal Fest 4) this coming August 29 2009 in Hong Kong. The said festival is the first of many Asian Metal Fest series that we will organize. “We are just doing this to unify the Asian metal scene and push it to worldwide recognition and nothing more. This will probably be Hong Kong or Asia in general most extreme metal show will ever experienced. This will be total aural devastation from the first to the last band.
