Chimaira melds metal mellow
The Weekender
Hunter’s vocals definitely make “The Infection” not for the occasional metal listener. Even though the band has slowed it down a bit it is still nowhere near soft. However the band’s pattern of writing softer music and combining it with the darkest of vocals has definitely set it apart and makes “The Infection” one of its best releases to date.

The Eastport Music Scene has been offering the free music classes including Sunday’s heavy metal session to interested musicians since late April. Peterson said he decided to offer the complimentary sessions to help raise awareness of the new lesson book called “Guitar Sensei Dojo” that was written by Joseph Freyre of Moriches the musical director at Eastport Music Scene. As a business owner Mr. Peterson acknowledges that he is also hosting the classes in order to bring more foot traffic into his store which also carries instruments and instructional books and offers repair services.

American Idol – Final Performance Night

This performance was more of the same (except I was not as emotionally moved as I was the first time). There was too much fog. Plus Adam was wearing a Matrix coat and one of Paula?s mesh metal necklaces. And Adam made some scary psycho eyes at the very end of the song. And I didn?t like the addition of a weird percussive ?bong? in the arrangement. Judge Moment: Randy gave him an ?A-plus? for ?Adam. ? Does that mean Kris gets a ?K-minus??Possibly Strangest Idol Celebrity Sighting of All Time: Sir Anthony Hopkins in da hizzou!Kris Allen (?Ain?t No Sunshine?) The Power of Cheese
Wall Street Journal
Cheese’s interpretation a jaunty up-tempo number that seemed tailor-made for a finger-snapping Jack Jones or Vic Damone. Cheese’s game: presenting very skillful Las Vegas lounge-style versions of punk rap heavy-metal and rock songs by the likes of Nirvana Guns N’ Roses Britney Spears Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead — with the often lewd lyrics completely intact. The rap number “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-A-Lot as covered by Mr. Cheese and his back-up group Lounge Against the Machine became a song for swingin’ lovers while U2′s impassioned anthem “Sunday Bloody Sunday” morphed into a mambo with Mr. Cheese singing some of the lyrics in Spanish. “How ya doing kids?” he asked with all the sincerity of a used-car salesman.

Wilmington’s WE Fest features 5 nights of music arts
StarNewsnline.com
“It’s a reason for all creative types to get together and see what other artists in the country are doing to support the arts and be involved in the things that we love. “As has happened a couple of times now over the course of WE Fest’s 13 years festival founder Kenyata Sullivan has eased his hold on the reins and allowed someone else in this case Batanides to put her own stamp on the festival which she has done with increased focus on visual art and poetry (see sidebar). But with about 90 bands – depending on how many show up don’t show up or are added at the last minute – the music isn’t exactly being neglected. In fact there’s so much diverse stuff going on at WE Fest schedules and descriptions are of minimal help; the best way to experience it is just to show up. And if you don’t like what you hear or see chances are like that old saying about the weather it’ll change pretty quickly. John Staton : 343-2343n Twitter. com: @StarNewsPlayAll rights reserved.
