Harris deserves credit for including the curiosity and by cut two she’s on to sturdier stuff ? a duet with Gram Parsons. It’s a nice transition because Harris says she found her voice singing with Parsons. Lots of wonderful music follows. There are 78 songs in all with two discs of Harris’ personal favorites and two discs featuring previously unreleased material collaborations and songs that appeared on tribute albums. The set’s fifth disc is an entertaining DVD with nine performances dating back as far as 1975. “Songbird” is a valuable companion to a two-disc anthology released by Rhino in 2001 that focuses on Harris’ hits. Merle Haggard “The riginal utlaw” (Time Life)This collects Merle Haggard’s best work in one three-CD set… ” This is a compilation best suited to the devoted completist Holiday collector who wants anything the singer ever recorded regardless of the sound quality. It is poorly packaged and the liner notes are only slightly more insightful than a Wikipedia entry. Various artists “Heavy Metal” (Rhino)Heavy metal is a style to be reckoned with and Rhino manages a respectable chronicle of the genre’s birth and various incarnations in this four-disc box set. Banging your head through 25 years and 70 tracks of boot-stomping angst ? whether it’s Iron Butterfly or Sepultura ? might not be good for your health but it’s a fun ride. Focused heavily on the years between punk and grunge when metal ruled the airwaves there are some scattered gems tracks you’ll think are not worthy and of course those that have been overlooked. (The inclusion of Black Sabbath’s “Neon Knights” as opposed to anything it recorded with zzy sbourne will seem sacrilegious to some). The souped-up psychedelic blues that marked metal’s birth is here (Uriah Heep Deep Purple Hawkwind) along with the glam-infused arena rock of Alice Cooper and Kiss; the stripped-down approach of early Iron Maiden Judas Priest and Motorhead; progressive metal courtesy of Rush and Queensryche; and shredding thrash from Metallica Slayer and Anthrax.

For a start they are unwilling to comply with Turkish legislation obliging registered asylum seekers to leave Istanbul for smaller "satellite cities. ""The police told us to go to Sivas" says Firas referring to a conservative city in eastern Anatolia. "Heavy metal in Sivas? I don’t think so. "The other obstacle lies with the UNHCR which requires Iraqis to apply for refugee status in the first country they arrive in. While the band doesn’t seem to be aware of this members know their immediate future looks bleak. The money raised to get Acrassicauda to Turkey has now run out and members are unsure how they will find the 340 Turkish lira (about $250) needed to pay the gas bill. Unable to go out much Marwan a keen cook passes the time adapting recipes from a Jamie liver book a friend lent him… "When I rang him from Syria to say we had a concert he said ’good for you son I hope you win’" remembers Marwan. Thanks to the support of Turkish friends Acrassicauda now has equipment and a space to practice. It also has a public much more attuned to its brand of angry music. Last November 350 people turned out to listen to the group play alongside several major Turkish bands in Istanbul’s most prestigious rock music venue. ther concerts followed. The group hopes soon to set off on a short tour of other Turkish cities. "In a real dark way this is a good opportunity for us" Firas says pulling on his bushy goatee beard half-biker half-Abe Lincoln.

If Police Academy made seven movies I would like to think that a deaf and deceased composer could make 10 symphonies even without Michael Winslow making all those hysterical sound effects. “Jah Rock Bomba Cloud”: This is presumably a Reggae song ? but I’m still waiting for someone to translate these words for me. “Dead Puppies Auschwitz Pain”: This is an idea for a death metal song- they seem to be fixated on negative things. It should begin with an intense guitar solo followed by screeching lyrics about death and destruction. Suburban teens will relate and then realize that they drive BMWs and have never suffered. At this point they will renounce Satan and apply to college (BU). “Parrot House Vestibule”: This song idea is for a “jam band” or ? I don’t know Dave Matthews; someone who does drugs… “Parrot House Vestibule”: This song idea is for a “jam band” or ? I don’t know Dave Matthews; someone who does drugs. It doesn’t make sense because it doesn’t have to. The song should feature “trippy” electronic music under incomprehensible lyrics. The audience will then smoke pot and pretend to understand it.

By JESSICA PERALTA SqueezeC. com Comments | Recommend Put on your high heels shed some clothes and gyrate to sexy music around a metal pole. The general idea is to give women a supportive environment where they can express their sexuality and work out at the same time. Music can be erotic or sensual and dim lighting may be used. Wear snug-fitting clothing (tanks short-shorts yoga pants etc. ) that you feel comfortable and confident in.
