She & Him — Zooey Deschanel’s music project with indie folkie M. Ward — are plotting to release their first album Volume 1 March 18 via Merge. The group has also been added to San Francisco’s Noise Pop slated for February 26 through March 2. Working for a Nuclear Free City Quasi White Denim Entrance and Great Northern have also been tossed onto the fest’s bill… J Mascis’s Witch project — the sludgy metal-ish answer to his main band Dinosaur Jr. — have thrown together their second album Paralyzed and it will see the light of day March 18. Witch are also scheduled to play this year’s South by Southwest music festival set for March 12-16 in Austin Texas.
