“It’s not about me showing off my music and being heard it’s about being there listening to someone else and feeling the energy together and dancing around. Klaxons live reviews | Music | Arts & Entertainment – Times nline

Their brashbustling witty debut album Myths of the Near Future glanced the top ofthe charts before picking up the Mercury Music Prize. They also won overboth the teenage style tribes and the cool-obsessed music press which is nomean feat. But when your core audience consists of the two most ficklegroups of fans on the planet the near future must surely look like a prettyprecarious prospect. Can they sustain this meteoric momentum? The Klaxons-mania was still much in evidence when the London-based quartetplayed to a youthful excitable crowd in Manchester on Monday. Dressed likeintergalactic superheroes from a low-budget 1980s sci-fi film the bandopened their compact set with a savagely mauled cover version of Kicks LikeA Mule’s jokey vintage rave tune from 1992 The Bouncer… Dressed likeintergalactic superheroes from a low-budget 1980s sci-fi film the bandopened their compact set with a savagely mauled cover version of Kicks LikeA Mule’s jokey vintage rave tune from 1992 The Bouncer. It wasgreeted with frenzied enthusiasm despite sounding like a clumsy punkynovelty. The band’s own compositions inspired similar rapture from the techno-metalracket of Atlantis to Interzone to the Wagnerian goth-rock epic FourHorsemen of 2012. The singer Jamie Reynolds likes to pepper his lyrics withliterary references although most were barely audible through thecluttered clattery din. But for such a smart and ambitious bunch it isdisappointing just how little finesse or intelligence Klaxons convey intheir boorish bellowed live shows. html”–>The nu-rave label that the band initially embraced then later disowned isalso somewhat baffling.

Zune 2.0: Playing Tomorrow’s Tune?
BusinessWeek – Nov 28, 2007
Its first music player called the Zune failed to even ding Apple’s (AAPL) market-beating iPod so Microsoft has come right back with version 2. And while I think iPod… The 80GB version’s 3. 2-inch display is more than 60% bigger than the iPod Classic’s while the two flash models’ screens are about three-quarters the size of a new nano’s. You can order the Zune in one of 20 designs or with a text inscription of up to five lines laser-etched into the metal back. The new navigation control is a nice innovation; the "Zune pad" works as both a standard five-way control and as a pad that’s sensitive to the flick of a finger. While playing music for example side-to-side motion moves back or forward through your playlist and up-and-down motion adjusts the volume. Wi-Fi has also been enhanced though its impact on battery life still makes it a dubious proposition. Zunes can now sync wirelessly with a Windows computer to transfer music podcasts video or photos.

According to NBC News affiliate KGET the metal god inspired an emergency ordinance in Bakersfield California prior to his playing in the city for fear that he would repeat some of his notorious behavior onstage. Back in 1982 weeks before sbourne was to perform in Bakersfield then-Mayor Mary Kay Shell “advised the council [that] a musical rock star scheduled to perform in Bakersfield in June sometimes makes it a practice to bite the head off a bird during or at the conclusion of his performance” according to KGET. The council then adopted an ordinance prohibiting the killing of animals during theatrical performances — or the zzy sbourne rdinance as it was called at the time.

Their second album simply titled The Budos Band II finds the outfit diving headfirst into dark atmospheres of Fela Kuti and Ethopian funk while having a rollicking party on the way down. Three Things You Should Know:The band’s influences are eclectic to say the least. In one breath baritone saxophonist Jared Tankel big-ups Ethopian funk god Mulatu Astatke (“It’s pretty wild stuff and it’s definitely been a big influence of ours”) and in the next he’s listing off inspirations like “Heavy metal death metal. The drummer and bass player love that stuff. Black Sabbath Slayer” he says “Even though you can’t hear that easily in our sound a lot of our songs have a dark sound — a lot of that comes from the metal aesthetic. The strangest concert the band ever played? A yoga studio in tiny Ashland regon. “There were yoga mats and pilates balls… They were Dirt Rifle and the Bullets” Tankel admits “Since that and the turn toward Afro-funk we’ve thought of maybe having a vocalist once and the thought passed really quickly. At this point we’re never going to have one” he adds. “We have enough people as it is trying to make music together. Get It: The Budos Band II hit stores in August and is available on iTunes. Check out the band’s electric live performance opening for Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings or at their special Hanukah concert at New York’s Webster Hall on December 8th. CBS News – Nov 28, 2007
Although Darr and Ekstrom said that “the drinks were warm and the food was cold” in Europe and they had to resort to McDonald’s food the fans were a whole different story. The music scene is different in Europe because the crowds show up earlier and they give a warm reception to the other bands that perform Dar and Ekstrom explained. ff stage it’s not all heavy metal for the band. Fans might be surprised to hear the Neurosinic’s eclectic tour bus music collection which ranges from Slipknot Eminem Winger Rage Against the Machine Pink Floyd Elton John to Keith Urban. It was pretty fantastic. Early night though everyone has been through the eye of a needle. We’re driving back over the Moors to Sheffield today after visiting a Mancunian music shop to buy some snazzy new pedals and cases. Unfortunately we can’t see anything because it’s so cold outside and our hot breathing stinks the windows up good. There’s no radio stuff to do today so Tom Tom takes us directly to THE PLUG where we have a lesiurely set up and a good soundcheck. Campbell reckons it’s a great room for a rock show. we have a whip round on advanced ticket sales thinking it’s Monday night in Sheffield could be sketchy… The people of Sheffield like their rock quirky and the VEGC go down like a balloon that’s not made of led. They rock the place right up and David sneaks on stage for the two drumkit finale. This particular tune is quite METAL and there seems to be a few real rock kids moshing in the audience down the front. After a flurry of smoking warming up and honey n’ lemons we walk round the maze of corridors to the stage and get up to an inviting audience. We have never done our own headliner in Sheffield as far as our rubbish memories serve so it’s really nice to see so many folks out on a Monday night. A real cross section of society are here tonight: A 60 year old woman with a cool silver bob loads of youngsters (it’s an over 14s show) and plenty of couples buff tomming near the front. We get quickly to work and demolish the first third of the set in record time.
