“They’re confined to just one genre. But we wanted to separate ourselves from that and give each song a different sound so you can listen to the whole record and not get tired of it. Kids who listen to all genres of metal will find something to like on this record because we tried to be as open as possible on it. While Lucker claims the band pre-sold more than 2200 copies of The Cleansing through its MySpace page and hopes to attract a lot more fans this year through nonstop touring and hopefully that summer-festival slot. And the video the guys recently shot with director Matt Bass (the Esoteric the Black Dahlia Murder) for “The Price of Beauty” won’t hurt. “It’s pretty violent” he said. “Matt wrote the treatment to the song and it fits so well — the video came out grotesque and intense just like the song… Relapse will host a free screening of the thrash-metal documentary “Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal” on Tuesday in Philadelphia at the Rotunda. The screening will be followed by a set from modern thrash band Rumpelstiltskin Grinder. “Get Thrashed” was written and directed by Rick Ernst and features interviews with many of the key players from the ’80s and ’90s. Iraqi Heavy Metal Band Asks for Help as They Fight to Survive
Rolling Stone – Sep 21, 2007
We can rightly or wrongly criticise and pick holes in people’s backgrounds and credentials but it is not so easy to step back from this empathise and take responsibility for channeling our sense of injustice into more productive actions (making music seems to be a positive way to raise awareness). The world would be a better place if more people could simply empathise with one another. Good on Acrassicauda for being determined to continue playing the music they love despite the madness of the world around them. I would hope to see an end to all war and oppression if it were only possible for people to stop shutting off and start take responsibility. Sadly this doesn’t appear to be on the near horizon and as a human race we continue to judge and attack others.
Iron Maiden tours Australia

It won’t be Live After Death word for word. I won’t be wearing my jocks on the outside of my Spandex. "We’ll be re-creating the cool bits but the main thing is the music. "We don’t want to look like our own version of an Iron Maiden cover band" Dickinson says. There’s not much chance of that given the line-up in Maiden is almost the same as that which toured Australia on the back on their 1982 breakthrough album Number of the Beast which hit No. Beast was Dickinson’s first album with the British metal outfit and the band’s third… There’s not much chance of that given the line-up in Maiden is almost the same as that which toured Australia on the back on their 1982 breakthrough album Number of the Beast which hit No. Beast was Dickinson’s first album with the British metal outfit and the band’s third. Iron Maiden formed in 1975 with bass player Steve Harris the only member still in the band. The current line-up stable since 1999 is rounded out by guitarists Dave Murray Adrian Smith and Janick Gers and drummer Nicko McBrain. All except Gers and McBrain played Australia in 1982. They’ve put out three studio albums.

Later he flew home to Brisbane for dinner with Therese and thekids. He’s that kind of bloke. We’re not sure whether he has ever heard of Motorhead or thedrummer with whom he shares a birthday but we’re prepared to betthe band’s heavy metal music did not made it on to the Rudd soundsystem last night. He’s just not that kind of guy.
