Teens to channel inner growl rock out at Lynnwood festival

Saturday at Wilcox Park in Lynnwood. Co-presented by the city of Lynnwood’s Cultural Arts Commission it will feature heavy-metal music performed by Eaven Til Thank You Kindly Terrace Tragedy The Wilderness Zero Year and Mirror the Ghost. Food vendors and a video-game station will also be part of the fun. About 300 people are expected to attend mostly 14-to-26-year-olds according to Jeff Jewett co-owner of Rock-It Music. Rock-It has sponsored teen battle-of-the-band competitions before at such venues as the Alderwood Boys & Girls Club. Bands would vie for prizes in front of a panel of judges.

Mixing duties were handled by Machine (Lamb f God White Zombie Armor For Sleep). Demon Hunter vocalist Ryan Clark previously stated about the new CD “Let me just say that although every band always says their most recent record is their best this new record is without a doubt Demon Hunter at our very finest and most creative. We’ve really pushed the boundaries of the music we’re used to playing in Demon Hunter and I believe in metal music in general. It’s a very diverse record. I tend to view Demon Hunter as a fairly diverse band to begin with but there is some material on this record that covers some very new ground. I sing in ways I’ve never sung before. The guitar tones are different than any previous record.

Chabad rabbinical students and graduates of Chabad's women's teaching colleges were there as well. As berlander seeis it it's an important step in helping the Hungarian community get used to a Jewish presence again. Chabad’s tent with separate dancing and singing makes a lot of noise enough to sometimes compete with the heavy metal bands playing on the main stage. Despite the pouring rain “the line of people waiting to ask us questions was huge. ” berlander grins. “Some of them waited with their question all year long knowing they’d meet us here!” Chabad has worked hard to revive Hungary’s Jewish community and is brimming with stories of young men and women unaware of their Jewish roots until recently. Adam Lunger a young Hungarian architect had never been to a Shabbat service.
