Also 8 Foot Sativa are crap now there’s only one original member in the band and Dawn of Azazel flat out crap too. Blindspott were and are definitely the best NZ metal band ever and they put on an awesome show!-Tahlia GreenGood riddance I say. I never liked this highly unoriginal band anyway but got dragged along to their final gig at the Powerstation by my younger sister who needed accompaniment. What I was subjected to could not ever be called ‘metal’ as some claim. Metal is supposed to be heavy technically skillful and aggressive. Blindspott were about as heavy as all the other nu-metal rubbish (Linkin Park etc) about as technically skillful as a high school Rockquest band and as aggressive as Earl Grey tea… ther Kiwi acts ones that are genuinely metal like 8 Foot Sativa and Dawn of Azazel are far more talented and deserve as much if not better than those chumps known as Blindspott. Good riddance to bad rubbish. -Mark MarkozaI realise Blindspott were commercially successful but their music was bland uninspired and highly derivative. And as for the drummer Shelton He was an embarrassment to all musicians. His pathetic Womans Weekly media-whoring during his “relationship” with Nicky Watson made me feel sorry for him. h thats right I must not be too harsh on them after all they did crack the South-East Asian MTV market for about a year and a half. -Patrick SmithJust want to say a huge thanks to Blindspott for an awesome gig last night and 10 years of pure entertainment.
Poison resurrects ’80s in SPAC finale
Albany Times Union – Aug 28, 2007
“pening act Vains of Jenna impressed with a powerful 30 minutes worth of slashing thrash metal that came off as a cross between Aerosmith Buckcherry and Poison. Keep an eye on these guys — they’re for real. Michael Lisi is a freelance music critic from Schenectady and a frequent contributor to the Times Union.
